BIOGENESIS 2017-2019

‘BIOGENESIS’ is part of a continued investigation into the anthropogenic eroding of biodiversity in the natural world. The first wave of this work was created after Dan was awarded the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize (Emerging Category) from the South Australian Museum and in preparation for his first solo show with the Hill Smith Gallery in Adelaide. Some of these works were produced in Berlin during an 3 month A.I.R. with Takt Kunstlerhaus, others were made on the cliffs of the Blue Mountains, or during a stretch of time in Perth. All of them attempt to understand the natural world - from the vantage of being a part of that same natural world.
